Critical Path presents its second Interchange Festival 2017.
Over the weekend, international and intercultural exchange will take place as part of artists’ choreographic practice.

POLITICAL BODY invited three NSW choreographers to speak of their work and share their research and body-practice as their place of agency.
DIRt (Dance In Regional disasTer zones) is an ongoing project with artists and ecologists initiated by Rosalind Crisp, provoked by experiences of environmental devastation in East Gippsland. Rosalind will talk about the people, the process, the materials and the form that emerged through residencies at Orbost (January 2017) and at Critical Path (March 2017) and will share some video and live extracts.

Rhiannon will share some current research and practices that explore our perception of the body and sense of agency / responsibility in relation to other bodies and the world around us. With a selection of literature (sci-fi, classics, theory, history and romance) Rhiannon offers a series of resting shapes for listening, feeling, re-imagining and letting blur what is of, done and enacted by our body.

THE START AND THE END OF THE BODY​
Where does it start and where does it end? Do we need to have moving bodies in order to make dance? If dance is an embodied practice what are the edges, the conception, the decomposition of the body, of dance? Should we think of ourselves as singular bodies, as body corporate or as part of our environment?

Their stories, my body (a research on ownership): Philippe in conversation with Adelina Larsson around his choreographic research into the body – the body might be a start but is perhaps never the end. Philippe is working on the provocation which offers the individual participants/performers to work for the community of bodies.
